Billie Eilish surprised Coachella Weekend 2 attendees with Hayley Williams on Saturday night for a exceptional performance of Paramore’s 2007 strike “Misery Company.”
Williams’ visual appearance arrived right after Eilish and her brother Finneas performed “Your Power” from her most the latest album, with the siblings duetting on acoustic guitar. There was a pause right after the song ended, in which anticipation crammed the air and Eilish took a seat on a stool to introduce her guest.
“Oh, search! An empty seat. Who’s that for?” Eilish said with a mischievous search. “Everybody, can we be sure to welcome my friend Hayley Williams!”
Backed by Finneas and a further guitar player, Williams and Eilish delivered an acoustic rendition of the pop-punk tune. Eilish appeared overjoyed to have Williams as a guest, allowing out an fired up yelp when she walked onstage. The two jumped and hugged as Williams resolved the crowd. “This is my 1st Coachella, whoa,” Williams reported. “Thanks for sharing this with me. This is ill!”
Prior to they broke out in music, Eilish questioned: “Hayley, wanna sing a little something?” To which Williams replied: “Yes, I’m much better at singing than talking.”
“Misery Business” was flawlessly tailor-made to each singers’ powerhouse vocals, with Williams belting the initial verse and Eilish jumping in to increase a decrease harmony to the chorus. “We audio superior,” Williams explained just before Eilish extra her signature whisper-type tone to the next verse.
“Oh my fucking god,” Eilish exclaimed right after Williams exited the phase. “Absolutely what on earth could be cooler than that? I’m dead severe.”
Saturday night marked a unusual overall performance of the song, which Williams has distanced herself from in current yrs, even asking for it to be taken off of Spotify’s Ladies in Rock playlist. Previous weekend, Eilish introduced out Damon Albarn of Gorillaz fame to perform “Feel Good Inc” along with Posdnuos of De La Soul.
